Clean hotel, with open bathroom concept!
The hotel was very clean, and the staff was very helpful and generous. The food was delicious.
However, be careful about the open bathroom concept - if you are traveling with someone, you might find it quite uncomfortable, and even ruin the entire experience!

excellent stay, well positioned hotel, great food, all international standards met or exceeded
location was great, if you're up for it, lot's to see within walking distance; food was awesome, buffet breakfasts & dinners or, a la carte, extensive menu catering for all desires; cleanliness of room very good, couldn't fault it; gym spacious with good equipment, staff attentive, kept the place spotless; shout out to Ama in the Beira cafe, and room cleaner Lakshan
one staff member in cafe didn't know what French toast was....really?

Excellent hotel
Check in smooth with lovely reception staff. Rooms are beautiful with every amenity you need. Pool is excellent with attentive staff. Very secure and convenient location. Mall includes a food court and supermarket with alcohol section.
Ordering food and drinks on a pay as you go basis seemed to be confusing for the staff. The menu prices weren't up to date. Items from our order were missed so things ended up coming at different and inconvenient times. I think staff might be used to people having buffet food included in their booking, and could benefit from giving pay as you go guests a better experience.

If you choose to go to Colombo, the Marriott is a great choice
It was everything I expected to be fair. A good hotel with a great pool and gym on the 9th floor
My only complaint is Colombo, it’s very spread out. Though there are friendly tuk tuk guys outside take most place for $2
